Apple TV renews French drama ‘Carême’ for season two

Apple TV has announced that the French-language drama "Carême" will return for a second season. The decision comes just days after the streaming service revealed that filming for the upcoming season would begin in Paris next week. "Carême" premiered in April last year and consists of eight episodes, boasting a solid 7.9/10 IMDb rating.

The show is based on the book "Carême: The First Celebrity Chef" by Ian Kelly and is currently in the running for an International Emmy Award in the Drama Series category, along with two Hollywood Music in Media Awards for its original score and main title.

The 54th International Emmy Awards will be held on November 23 in New York City, while the 17th annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards will take place on November 18 in Hollywood. "Carême" follows the life of Antonin Carême (played by Benjamin Voisin), the world's first celebrity chef, who rose from a humble background in Paris to become a culinary sensation in Napoleon's Europe.

Despite his passion for fame, Carême attracts the attention of influential politicians, who use him as a spy for France. As he strives to escape poverty and achieve his dreams of wealth, women, and fame, Carême must weigh the consequences of his choices, including his love, soul, and ultimately, his life. Apple TV has not yet announced the release date for the second season, but viewers can watch the trailer for the first season below.
