Apple Creator Studio and Final Cut Camera Get New Features

Apple has recently rolled out updates to its iOS apps, Apple Creator Studio and Final Cut Camera. Final Cut Camera, a professional iPhone filming application, now supports a variable aperture feature on the iPhone 18 Pro. This allows users to adjust the aperture and choose between aperture priority and shutter priority modes. The app also includes support for Cinematic mode effects and various professional settings such as shutter angle, ISO, and white balance.

Customizable overlays with false color and clipping indicators have been added for improved exposure control. Focus peaking has been enhanced with sensitivity control, and a tally light indicates when recording is in progress. Additional features encompass professional video scopes, clean SDI output, and genlock offset.

On the desktop side, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote have introduced new templates and themes, along with enhanced collaboration tools. Keynote, for instance, now offers intelligent slide generation, while Numbers features advanced mathematical functions like trigonometry, statistics, and logic. Pages for Mac boasts a Screen View that optimizes content for reading and writing.

Pixelmator Pro for iPad has received new template collections for Mac and iPad, streamlining the process of launching ideas, businesses, or products. The iPad app has also adopted the Select and Mask feature from its Mac counterpart for refined mask and selection adjustments.

On the video editing front, both Final Cut Pro and Motion for Mac now allow users to add Cinematic mode effects to video captured on the iPhone 18 Pro. This enables them to manipulate focus points and depth of field within the Final Cut Pro timeline. Compressor has been updated to support converting video with Cinematic mode effects back to the legacy Cinematic mode format, and it now includes HEVC and MPEG–4 export presets.

Freeform, an app included in visionOS 27, now comes with automatic Dark Mode support, enhanced organizational capabilities, and compatibility with Writing Tools. These tools facilitate rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing handwritten notes.

In the Apple visionOS 27 update, Freeform on the Vision Pro allows users to integrate multiple items from a board into their space, enabling multiple users to view 3D models together. All of these updates are now live. Apple Creator Studio, priced at $12.99 per month, provides access to all of Apple's creative applications, including Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro. Meanwhile, the free apps, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, offer premium features not available in their free counterparts.
