‘All American’ Boss Breaks Down Series Finale and What Would Have Happened in Season 9

Directed by the show's longtime star Daniel Ezra, the finale was written by Nkechi Okoro Carroll and Jameal Turner. Carroll had known for a while how she wanted these storylines to end, tying them together with the characters' futures.

Having Daniel Ezra direct the finale was a no-brainer for Carroll, given his long-standing role in the series. He was able to bring the show to a fitting close, just as Spencer Paysinger had done in real life.
