AAP donations fall 68%, BJD reports zero contributions

In 2025-26, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) saw a significant drop in donations, reporting a mere Rs 12.1 crore compared to Rs 38.1 crore in the previous fiscal year. Prudent Electoral Trust and Trident Group, founded by Rajya Sabha MP Rajendra Gupta, who recently switched allegiances from AAP to BJP, contributed Rs 10 crore or 83% of the total.

Among regional parties, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh reported Rs 58.3 crore in donations, with Prudent contributing over 77% of this amount through six donations. The YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh received Rs 24.3 crore in donations, a sharp decline from Rs 140 crore in 2024-25. The BRS party in Telangana declared Rs 16.4 crore in donations, an increase from Rs 15.1 crore the previous year.

Biju Janata Dal (BJD), which lost in Odisha's 2024 elections, reported no donations in 2025-26, as opposed to Rs 60 crore in the previous fiscal year.
