2 men from Jharkhand went to Vietnam to teach yoga. Now, kin await their bodies

Three years ago, Vinay Yadav from Jamshedpur moved to Vietnam to become a yoga instructor. In 2025, Raja Kumar, aged 24, followed the same journey in Ranchi. Together, they worked at the Adi Yoga Academy in Da Lat city, aiming to improve their families' fortunes. On September 25, their dream was tragically ended when the duo, returning from work, got involved in an accident.

Raja succumbed to injuries on the same day, while Vinay passed away two days later at a hospital. Their families in Jharkhand are waiting to receive their bodies back. Raja's mother, Rupa Devi, is devastated, constantly crying and pleading for her son's body to return home. Raja's younger brother, Shubham Kumar, explained to The Indian Express that Raja had pursued yoga for four years before heading to Vietnam to provide financial support for his family.

Raja's father, an electrician, was the primary income earner for the family. His last conversations with his family were ordinary, asking about their well-being. On the evening of September 25, while returning home from a yoga class, Raja and Vinay met with an accident in Da Lat city. Raja was killed instantly, and Vinay was rushed to the hospital, where he remained under treatment for two days before succumbing to his injuries.

Rahul Kumar, Raja's uncle, is working to bring his nephew's body back to India, estimating the process will cost around Rs 20 lakh. The process has been challenging and expensive. Vinay's family is also waiting anxiously for his body's return. His cousin, Abhijit, is assisting with the arrangements in Vietnam, but the exact circumstances surrounding Vinay's death are still unclear.

The family in Jamshedpur has not been informed of the full truth about Vinay's condition. They are hoping for his recovery and are praying for his safe return. The repatriation process could take another five days, and the estimated cost to send Vinay's body to India is over Rs 10 lakh. Both families are reaching out to local officials and Indian authorities for assistance in repatriating their loved ones' bodies.
