‘Will win very soon’: Trump hints at possible pre-midterm strikes on Iran

US President Donald Trump expressed optimism that the US would "win" its conflict with Iran "very soon," hinting at the possibility of additional military strikes prior to the upcoming midterm elections. In an interview with Fox News, Trump suggested that ending the war would lead to a significant decline in global oil prices, returning them to their pre-war levels. He reiterated that the main goal is to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, emphasizing that nuclear deterrence is crucial.

Trump avoided directly confirming the prospect of renewed strikes before the midterm elections, stating, "I don't want to say that." He maintained that Iran's economy had been severely crippled by the ongoing pressure campaign, with the country's currency value plummeting and inflation soaring to nearly 300% (citing figures of 318%).

Meanwhile, Iran's foreign minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, warned that Tehran is prepared for a "doomsday war" and remains open to diplomatic negotiations. Araghchi stated that Iran stands ready to defend itself against any new US aggression and that the choice between diplomacy and military action lies with Trump.
