Who is Ashrit Talluri? Indian-origin 14-year-old scores perfect 1600 on SAT

Fulton County, Georgia, a 14-year-old student of Indian origin has recently achieved a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT, a feat that most students his age would typically attempt well into their college years. Ashrit Talluri, a ninth-grader, scored 800 in both Math and Reading and Writing sections, a result that initially left him in disbelief.

Ashrit, whose family hails from Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district in Telugu, relocated to the United States in 2008. His academic journey, however, commenced at a young age, as he had already completed 14½ high-school credits and participated in college-level summer programs at Harvard and Rice Universities. Initially encouraged by his father and middle-school counselor to take the SAT, Ashrit dedicated five months to preparation, using a tutor, online resources, and over two dozen practice tests.

Despite his earlier practice test scores, the real SAT result still took him by surprise, requiring several weeks of verification by his family. Currently taking two college-level courses at Innovation Academy through dual enrollment, Ashrit's interests extend beyond academics. Engaging in chess, aviation, hackathons, and exploring artificial intelligence, computer science, medicine, and research, he aims to become a neurosurgeon, incorporating his interests in technology and healthcare.

With his perfect SAT score now behind him, Ashrit continues to apply his knowledge to assist others by creating SAT practice questions and sharing test-taking strategies.
