Vote for Week 3 Delaware HS Athlete of the Week, presented by DOS

Delaware residents can now cast their vote to determine the Week 3 Delaware HS Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists. The voting portal is accessible for free on Delaware Online, with the winner set to be revealed on Friday, October 2.

Paige Ballinger from Padua High School led the pack with a dominant performance in the girls varsity cross country race at the Whippets Invitational, finishing in an impressive 18:26.6. Kyle Brannon of Tatnall School came in second place, securing a 10th position finish in the boys challenge race at the Carlisle Invitational, clocking in at 16:07.8.

Aria Hoff of Newark Charter School demonstrated exceptional skills in girls volleyball, recording an impressive feat of 34 kills, 5 aces, and 39 digs in three consecutive victories over Ursuline, Wilmington Friends, and Cape Henlopen. Chase McDonald of Tower Hill High School showcased his prowess in boys soccer, netting two goals in Tower Hill's 6-1 victory over Wilmington Friends, and added two more goals and two assists in a subsequent 6-0 win against Tatnall.

Lastly, Kailey McMahon of Cape Henlopen High School displayed her field hockey prowess by scoring the game-winning goal in overtime during Cape Henlopen's 2-1 victory over Smyrna. With such outstanding performances, Delaware residents are invited to select the best athlete in the region during the third week of fall sports competition.
