The Petoskey News-Review Athlete of the Week competition resumes for the fall sports season. Poll results for this week's voting period are collected from Tuesday, September 21 through Saturday, September 26, encompassing both Emmet and Charlevoix Counties. Last week's Athlete of the Week honor was claimed by Charlevoix football player Conor Vondra, who narrowly defeated Petosky's James Holt in a highly competitive voting week.
Vondra has been exceptional on the offensive side of the ball for the first-year Rayder team, while also contributing significant defensive plays. Voting for these athletes from Monday, September 28 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 1 is now open. Keep an eye out for the next Athlete of the Week from the Petoskey-area next week. Coaches, Athletic Directors, parents, concession workers, and anyone else who knows of notable performances are encouraged to send stats or relevant information to Drew Kochanny at dkochanny@petoskeynews.com prior to Monday morning to ensure inclusion in the Athlete of the Week selection.
