Umm Al Quwain industrial park breaks ground in manufacturing push

Umm Al Quwain has embarked on a new industrial park project aimed at bolstering local manufacturing and incorporating advanced technologies into products designed for both domestic and international markets. Robo.ai Inc., owned by industrial group ALIF Holding, has commenced construction on Phase I of the ALIF Holding Group Industrial Park.

The development is planned across three phases, starting with the renovation of existing facilities and followed by the construction of new factory spaces, with reservations for additional land to facilitate future growth.

The initiative aligns with the UAE's Operation 300Bn strategy, which seeks to increase the industrial sector's contribution to the national economy and enhance the country's manufacturing capabilities. Dr Jasem Al Mansoori, CEO of ALIF Holding, stated, "This is a step toward connecting global technology with local engineering and manufacturing. We aim to build lasting UAE industrial capabilities in line with Operation 300Bn."

The first project to be housed in Phase I is Alif Maritec, which will focus on oil-spill response, water-quality verification, land-border security systems, and AI-driven defense and monitoring systems for critical infrastructure. The facilities within the industrial park are intended to support the local production of related products, as well as the integration of equipment and software.

ALIF Holding aims to attract at least three project companies to establish a presence at the industrial park by the end of 2026, although this timeline may vary depending on the site's readiness and individual project requirements. The company noted that securing a spot at the park does not guarantee immediate commercial production, as production schedules will be contingent upon construction completion, regulatory approvals, funding, and operational preparations.
