Trump expects more talks after rejecting latest Iranian proposal

Iran has stated that it has no plans to engage in negotiations with the United States, despite claims from former President Donald Trump. On the same day, Trump announced new, less stringent fuel economy standards for automakers, claiming that the move would reduce waste in car production and save families money on new vehicles.

Attorney General Todd Blanche defended the administration's decision to revoke press credentials from three news outlets, stating that it was a privilege and not a right to access the White House. The administration cited inaccurate reporting from CNN, MSNBC, and Politico as the reason for the ban, which began on September 19th.

Republican Senator Thom Tillis criticized Trump for supporting Ken Paxton over John Cornyn in the Texas Senate Republican primary, calling it a "colossal mistake." Earlier this month, President Xi Jinping of China met with Trump in Washington for his first state visit to the US since 2015.

The United States and China announced a reciprocal list of products worth approximately $30 billion each that would see tariff cuts, boosting bilateral trade. This announcement came days after their high-level meeting in Washington.

House Democrats are preparing a comprehensive oversight agenda, with investigations into Trump, his family, and his administration, should the party gain control of the chamber in the November elections. The investigation will span multiple House committees.
