TCS, IEM Kolkata Join Hands To Set Up AI Centre Of Excellence

Kolkata, September 28, 2026 - Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global IT services and consulting leader, has teamed up with the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) in Kolkata to create an AI-focused Centre of Excellence (CoE). This collaboration aims to foster industry-academia innovation by providing a platform for applied learning, research, experimentation and innovation.

The two-year partnership will focus on enhancing the connection between classroom learning, AI-led research, and industry application. It will involve AI-focused workshops, faculty development programs, student learning and certification initiatives, joint research and proof-of-concept projects, as well as the development of industry-relevant AI use cases.

Students will have opportunities to work on active projects under TCS professionals' mentorship and participate in hackathons, innovation challenges, and knowledge-sharing events.
