Despite initial skepticism, the Orange have opened as favorites against UConn with a -7.5 point spread according to FanDuel’s opening odds. This unexpected turn may have caught some Orange fans off guard, especially after the team's recent string of losses.

The two recent losses for Syracuse featured a total of five interceptions thrown by starting quarterback Steve Angeli, a stark contrast to his previous collegiate career where he had only thrown three interceptions in 19 games across Syracuse and Notre Dame. Fans might be tuning into the UConn matchup expecting a quarterback change, as Kennesaw State transfer Amari Odom entered Syracuse's game against Pitt after Angeli's second interception.
