In Tampin, a tragic accident involving two vehicles claimed the lives of a young couple and left their four-year-old son injured. The incident occurred on Jalan Gemencheh around 10:55 am today. Police Chief Amiruddien Sariman stated that the 26-year-old woman, who was a front-seat passenger in a Proton Wira, died at the scene, while her 27-year-old husband, who was driving, was pronounced dead at Gemencheh Health Clinic.

The collision happened when the family's vehicle was en route from Gemencheh to Bukit Rokan and the Perodua Bezza from Bukit Rokan was overtaking them. Upon reaching the accident site, the family was believed to have lost control of their vehicle, causing it to collide with the Perodua Bezza. As a result, the couple died, and their young son sustained injuries and was taken to Tampin Hospital for further treatment.

Amiruddien informed that the bodies of the victims were taken to Tampin Police Forensic Unit for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. He urged anyone with information about the accident to contact Tampin Traffic Police Station at 06-441 2502 or Inspector Imanul Hassan Mohamad Shah. The investigation is being conducted under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and further inquiries are ongoing.
