Starship spacecraft splashes down in Pacific: livestream

SpaceX's Starship rocket made a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean following its maiden orbital flight and the deployment of 26 satellites, according to a livestream broadcast on Monday. The successful mission, which lasted just over three hours, was significantly shorter than the anticipated 10-hour flight duration. The upper stage of the Starship upper stage descended into the ocean and ignited its engines for a controlled landing before ultimately exploding upon tipping onto its side.

Despite experiencing some technical issues, such as a few engines failing to ignite during the launch and a brief abort at the launch pad, this test marked a significant achievement for SpaceX. The successful demonstration brings the company one step closer to their goal of launching humans to the Moon using Starship.
