Ryan Campbell steps up as Durham director of cricket following promotion

Ryan Campbell, the current head coach of the Netherlands, is set to become the director of cricket and high performance coaching at Durham. This move will see him leave his current role as head coach. Campbell, who is 54 years old, has been leading the men's team for four seasons. During his tenure, the team has won Division Two twice, including last season where they went undefeated.

Campbell's new role will involve actively participating in the appointment of his successor, as the county prepares to return to the top flight. He told the club's website, "Moving into the director of cricket and high performance coaching role isn't stepping back, it's a chance to keep shaping the direction of this club, and I'm really looking forward to it."

Chief Executive Tim Bostock believes Campbell's appointment will ensure a smooth transition into a more senior position within the club, helping Durham continue its successful trajectory. Bostock added, "Ryan, like Marcus, understands the passion for cricket in the north east and totally buys into producing outstanding cricketers who will bring success for Durham and of course England in the years to come."
