Ronik Comprehensive School Wins Lagos Agric Scholars Competition

Ronik Comprehensive School (RCS) has claimed victory in the Lagos State Agricultural Science Scholars Competition, solidifying its reputation for excellence in practical and science-based education. Principal Mrs Victoria Duru highlighted that the triumph emphasizes the school's commitment to producing well-rounded students with practical knowledge and skills applicable to Nigeria's future.

The competition allowed students to showcase their understanding of agriculture and its real-world applications. In response to this achievement, the Lagos State Government is installing a greenhouse at RCS, a facility designed to further bolster agricultural education and hands-on learning. Team leader Mr. Shobowale Sule Olanrewaju revealed the names of the winning scholars, including Cadmus Mololuwa, Ude Duke, and Eluobaju Abimbola.

The school plans to utilize the greenhouse to foster research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and a deeper interest in agriculture among students. This victory also opens doors for RCS to collaborate with agricultural institutions, professionals, and stakeholders, exposing students to cutting-edge topics such as agricultural technology, sustainable farming, and agribusiness.

RCS views this triumph as a platform to inspire young Nigerians to see agriculture as a field of science, technology, innovation, and enterprise, ultimately contributing to food security, employment creation, and economic diversification in Nigeria. The school intends to bolster its Agricultural Science program through continuous teacher professional development and an increased focus on practical student projects, appreciating the support of teachers, parents, and management that led to this remarkable achievement.
