Roberto Carlos’ serious problem with agent and family: ‘…left my bank account at zero’

Roberto Carlos, the legendary Brazilian footballer, has revealed that he lost all of his wealth accumulated throughout his career due to struggles with his agent and family. Speaking at the Portugal Football Summit, Carlos, who had a remarkable career playing for his country and Real Madrid, admitted that despite planning for his post-playing life, he faced financial ruin.

The footballer acknowledged that he made mistakes and urged the younger generation not to follow in his footsteps. Carlos, who won 125 caps for Brazil, spent a significant portion of his career in Europe, primarily with Real Madrid, where he won multiple titles, including the Champions League in 1998, 2000, and 2002. He also managed a team in the Indian Super League and was recognized as a FIFA World Player of the Year in 1997 and the Ballon d'Or in 2002.
