Rainstorm displaces residents in Krachi Nchumuru

A recent rainstorm has wreaked havoc in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region, causing significant damage and displacing residents from several farming communities. Grubi, Kokose, Kwame Akura, and other surrounding areas were hit hard by the storm, with several homes having their roofs torn off and others suffering extensive damage.

In the aftermath, many affected households have been forced to seek temporary shelter with relatives and friends. Frustrated by the disruption to their daily lives and the added financial strain, residents have turned to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Krachi Nchumuru District Assembly, and various benevolent organizations for urgent relief support.

They expressed their concern over the disruption to their daily routines and the mounting financial challenges faced by families already battling to meet their basic needs. In response to the tragedy, NADMO's District Director, Mr Shadrach Njebi, along with a rescue team, has swiftly mobilized to the affected communities, Kwame Akura, Grubi, Kokose, and neighboring areas, to evaluate the extent of the destruction and provide essential assistance to the displaced residents.

NADMO has reaffirmed its dedication to swiftly responding to emergencies and supporting communities affected by disasters.
