President Sheikh Mohamed travels on Etihad Rail for launch of Dubai station

President Sheikh Mohamed and Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, along with officials and dignitaries, visited Etihad Rail's Dubai station ahead of its opening. The inauguration of Al Yalayis Station is a crucial step in expanding the national rail network and connecting major regions and emirates. President Mohamed traveled by train from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, receiving a briefing on the Etihad Rail system and its commitment to international service quality. Upon arrival, he met with project staff and took photos.

Sheikh Hamdan toured the station, learning about its facilities, services, and technology aimed at providing a seamless passenger experience. Connecting Dubai to the national rail network enhances Dubai's position as a global business, tourism, and investment hub, while also improving accessibility within the city. Sheikh Hamdan announced that bookings for the new Dubai-Abu Dhabi and Dubai-Fujairah services will open on Monday, with the first services commencing on Wednesday.

The online ticketing system was initially available to passengers traveling between Dubai and Abu Dhabi on September 22, but bookings were temporarily halted before resuming. Al Yalayis Station connects to the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station via a pedestrian bridge, allowing easy transfers between Etihad Rail and the Dubai Metro.

Passengers can also use a unified QR code for booking and traveling across various modes of public and private transport.
