Police recover 28 human skulls, bones from Abia forest

Abia State Police Command has recovered 28 human skulls and other human bones from forested areas in the Isuochi and Nneato communities of Umunneochi Local Government Area. The command's spokesperson, Maureen Chinaka, revealed this following a security operation conducted on Sunday. The operation, part of "Operation No Hideout for Criminal Elements in the State," involved multiple units and resulted in the evacuation of suspected criminal camps.

The remains, suspected to be of kidnapped individuals, were found during raids where the suspects fled upon the police's arrival. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet. The Umunneochi area has a history of security operations targeting kidnappers, with similar findings in the past. The police urge residents to report any information that could aid in combating criminal activities within the state.
