PMA Announces Symbolic Strike Against FBR’s POS Measures

The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has declared a symbolic strike on September 30 to voice opposition to the Federal Board of Revenue's (FBR) Point of Sale (POS) system implementation. This action comes ahead of a national convention in Gujrat on October 11, aimed at opposing the FBR's measures impacting private medical facilities.

The PMA's central office has instructed provincial and district organizations to prepare for the strike. Dr. Kamran Ahmed, the PMA's Central General Secretary, sent a letter to all relevant organizations, urging them to prepare for the protest. The association has also urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address the FBR's measures affecting private clinics and hospitals.

The PMA argues that the government should reconsider the measures introduced for medical facilities and rectify the concerns of doctors and private healthcare providers.
