Piyush Goyal to visit US from Sept 29 to Oct 5

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to make a visit to the United States from September 29 to October 5 as part of the G20 Trade Ministers meeting, according to an official statement from the Commerce Ministry. This visit coincides with ongoing negotiations between India and the US on a bilateral trade deal, with a senior US State Department official indicating that the agreement is "90 per cent-plus" complete, with only a few final issues remaining to be worked out.

The official expressed optimism about the imminent signing of the trade deal, stating that such an agreement has the potential to "unleash another level" of India-US bilateral relations, which has long been a sticking point in the relationship. Goyal's US visit will also involve other engagements related to India's trade and economic interests in the country.
