Portugal coach Jorge Jesus has declared Manchester City's Erling Haaland and 2023 African Player of the Year Victor Osimhen as the world's strongest forwards inside the penalty area, according to a report by PUNCH Sports Extra. During an interview following Portugal's 2-1 victory over Norway in the UEFA Nations League at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo, Jesus made this comparison.

"Haaland is the most physically and technically powerful player inside the box," Jesus stated, acknowledging that outside the box, Haaland may not be as dominant, despite his speed. However, Jesus believed that Osimhen and Haaland reign supreme for him in the penalty area. Haaland, who scored Norway's lone goal, has amassed 65 goals in 57 appearances for his national team.

The 26-year-old's proficiency inside the box is unmatched, as he shares key attributes with Osimhen, such as relentless physical presence, superior aerial ability, devastating finishing, and remarkable mental resilience under pressure. Haaland surpasses Osimhen in terms of career goals, having scored 371 goals for club and country compared to Osimhen's 214.
