Only 28.2 percent of Serie A playing time this season has been allocated to Italian talent, according to recent statistics. In the first five rounds of the season, clubs like Milan, Juventus, and Como were dominated by foreign players. Il Fatto Quotidiano analyzed the stats after 50 matches this season, finding that 71.9 percent of the 454 players used were not Italian, a higher percentage than last season's average of 69.1 percent.

Venezia is the worst offender, with 99.6 percent of their players being foreign during the five matches they've played. The bigger clubs, including Como, are also struggling, with only 4.5 percent of their players being Italian after recent signings aimed at meeting UEFA's homegrown talent requirements. Milan and Juventus, however, have a slightly higher percentage of Italian players, at 7.7 percent and 15.2 percent respectively.

Inter and Roma, on the other hand, have managed to maintain a core of Italian players in their squads, with 29.3 percent and 29 percent respectively. Frosinone stands out as the most pro-actively Italian team, with 69.9 percent of their playing time given to local players.
