'No to Israel’s genocidal wars': Hundreds risk arrest outside Labour conference over Palestine Action ban

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Labour conference in Liverpool on Sunday, risking arrest to oppose the ban on Palestine Action. The demonstration was organized by the group Defend Our Juries, with most of the participants being elderly individuals who have been repeatedly arrested for their acts of civil disobedience.

Among them was Carolyn Gelenter, a 57-year-old daughter of a Holocaust survivor, who expressed her opposition to Israel's genocidal wars and support for Palestine Action. Gelenter's daughter, who had been arrested multiple times for the same offense, emphasized the importance of speaking out against political ideologies that are not aligned with Judaism, such as Zionism.

Joe, a 25-year-old protester, also joined the demonstration, stating his willingness to be arrested in protest of the ban, which he deemed draconian and unjust. Human rights organizations have widely denounced the ban, and thousands of people have been arrested since its implementation for acts of civil disobedience.
