New York Times executive fatally shot allegedly by elderly in-laws

Jonathan McKinsey, a 40-year-old engineer at New York Times Games, was fatally shot in California over the weekend, according to police. The incident occurred near the Dublin Sports Grounds in Dublin, where a sergeant found McKinsey lying on the ground in a parking lot. Multiple 911 calls had been made about the shooting, which left McKinsey dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported that both McKinsey's parents-in-law, Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, were involved in the shooting. The suspects, both 77 years old and residents of Dublin, were detained and booked into the Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of murder. Police stated that there are no outstanding suspects and no threat to public safety, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently under investigation.
