New Flyover Inaugurated in Karachi

Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon officially opened the Mosamiyat Flyover on Sunday, as part of the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) initiative. His spokesperson confirmed the event. Saeed Ghani, Provincial Minister, and Karachi Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad joined Memon for the visit to the Red Line corridor.

Authorities updated him on the ongoing construction progress before the ceremony. Memon emphasized the flyover's significance to the Red Line project. He stated that authorities would finalize necessary procedures before opening the flyover to the public within two days. Rising inflation, including fluctuations in the dollar, cement prices, and petrol prices, presented challenges to the project's budget, initially set for a two-year duration.

Despite these obstacles, Memon reported that the government persevered, resolving issues through agreements and consultations with relevant institutions. He praised the project team for swift completion and highlighted the flyover's contribution to alleviating commuting difficulties on University Road. Memon further noted that work on the Red Line BRT, including station construction, remains vigorous.
