Negeri crisis: More than 60 questions posed; All former Excos told to return official cars

Former Negeri Sembilan executive councillor Asna Amin disclosed that he answered more than 60 questions during his statement to police regarding an investigation into the state's administrative and royal crisis. The questioning session took place at the Negeri Sembilan Islamic religious council building in Seremban, involving 10 former exco members and several other individuals.

The interview, which lasted over half an hour, concluded at approximately 2pm, as reported by Utusan Malaysia. Asna clarified that they merely provided statements at this stage, emphasizing the professional manner in which the process was conducted and how they answered the questions. Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim was absent during the proceedings.

Asna, who also serves as the Lenggeng assemblyman, announced that all official vehicles and state government property would be returned today, in accordance with an order from the state secretary. Fairuz Isa, another assemblyman from Serting, mentioned that his statement-taking process took about two hours. Both Asna and Fairuz confirmed that all their answers were accurate.

Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail announced on a previous day that the 10 former exco members would be summoned for assistance in the investigation into the state's royal and administrative crisis. The extent of the investigation was not disclosed by Khalid, but he did not rule out the possibility of classifying the situation under the Sedition Act.

The Negeri Sembilan crisis began in April with the purported removal of Tuanku Muhriz as the state ruler, a claim that has been deemed invalid by the state's highest customary council and the Attorney-General’s Chambers. The conflict escalated when the 10 exco members had their appointments revoked by the Yang Dipertuan Besar, Tuanku Muhriz, on September 20 following an assessment that they had breached their oaths of office and pledged allegiance to the state ruler on August 7.
