Mumbai Tragedy: 50-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Run Over By Mixer Tanker In Mazgaon; Driver Booked For Rash Driving

Mumbai, September 28, 2026: A fatal incident unfolded on Barrister Nath Pai Marg in Mazgaon when a 50-year-old pedestrian met with a tragic end after being struck by a speeding mixer tanker. Police have registered a case against the tanker driver, Mohammed Arif Bashir Khan, 55, for allegedly engaging in rash and negligent driving.

The Byculla police were alerted around 12:29 pm to the accident and arrived at the scene. Upon investigation, they discovered an unidentified man in his 50s lying unconscious on the road. The rear right dual wheels of the mixer tanker, bearing registration number MH 46 DC 5473, had reportedly run over the victim's head. The driver, Khan, a resident of Kalamboli Road, Navi Mumbai, was detained by the police.

He was examined at Sir J.J. Hospital and declared dead around 1:40 pm. The Byculla police are currently conducting further investigations under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
