MSc Student Held After Trespassing Into MLC Neelam Gorhe’s Pune Bungalow

Pune witnessed an incident on September 26 when an MSc student, Himanshu Hire, was apprehended for trespassing into the residence of Shiv Sena MLC Neelam Gorhe. Hire, a native of Nashik district, was found hiding on the terrace of Gorhe's Silver Rocks home around 3 am. The intruder was in possession of a hammer, pliers, a 10-metre rope, and hand gloves, as well as evidence of turning off the water supply to the terrace tank.

Neelam Gorhe, who was away at the time of the incident, addressed the media on Monday, expressing concerns about the long duration Hire occupied the terrace and the inconsistencies in his statements. The security guard, who had been with Gorhe for several years, noticed the absence of water supply and discovered Hire on the terrace.

The security guard's testimony corroborated the CCTV footage that showed Hire entering the premises around 3 am and remaining there until 7 am. Neelam Gorhe alleged that Hire had initially claimed to have entered the terrace due to stray dogs, a claim that did not align with the evidence. Furthermore, a medical examination did not indicate that Hire was under the influence of alcohol.

The police registered an FIR against Hire for trespassing with the intention of committing theft. Neelam Gorhe requested a thorough investigation into the incident, questioning the motives behind the intrusion and the presence of the rope in Hire's possession.
