Momentic debuts Mo AI agent to automate software testing without scripts

Momentic Inc., an AI-powered software testing and quality assurance platform, has launched Mo, an AI agent that allows developers to test software without the need for maintaining scripts. Testing is crucial to ensure that apps are free of bugs before going into production. Traditionally, this task falls on quality assurance engineers, but the rapid pace of code creation and AI-driven build cycles have led to errors and issues slipping through unnoticed.

Developers often write code that an AI agent generates, then manually test it for issues. This process is time-consuming and can become unmanageable as applications grow in complexity. Momentic's solution is to remove the intermediate layer of test scripts and enable QA agents to work directly from requirements and intent. Mo functions like other AI coding tools, such as Claude Code, and can be accessed via a web interface, chat box, or command-line interface.

Mo then opens the app, spins up a swarm of agents, and goes through various permutations and edge cases, recording interactions as it goes. At the end of testing, Mo provides developers with a detailed report of what was tested, what failed, how to reproduce the bugs, and video evidence of each issue.

While Mo can turn these test results into scripts if desired, the main goal is to eliminate the need for maintaining test scripts altogether. This approach has been tested by Momentic's customers in various industries, including Notion, Superpower, Iris, Committee for Children, and Boundless. The ultimate aim is to help developers deliver bug-free software without the overhead of writing and maintaining test scripts.
