Mike Tomlin: Ke'Shawn Williams forgot he wasn't playing for Steelers

Mike Tomlin, now an analyst on NBC's Football Night in America, playfully criticized Bengals returner Ke Shawn Williams during a review of highlights from the Bengals' Week 3 loss to Pittsburgh. Williams committed a costly error by muffed a punt and subsequently fumbling the ball during the fourth quarter. During the broadcast, Tomlin remarked, "He forgets that he's not playing for them."

This muffed punt provided the Steelers with a new opportunity to retaliate. Tomlin also commented on the Bengals' punt return team, stating, "Another error by their punt return team, giving the Steelers another shot." The highlight also featured a collision between Bengals defensive backs Dax Hill and DJ Turner, with Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers finding DK Metcalf for a touchdown.

Tomlin jokingly likened Hill and Turner to the Keystone Cops. During a Sept. 25 appearance in Pittsburgh for the Steelers' Hall of Honor ceremony, Tomlin expressed his eagerness to be present on Sunday to witness the anticipated "butt-kicking" of the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals obtained Williams through a waiver claim from Pittsburgh in December 2025.
