MIHAS showcase connects global exporters across 58 countries in Malaysia

The Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026 continued on its third day with a strong turnout, aiming to achieve a target of 50,000 business visitors. By day two, the event had already attracted 30,000 visitors, signaling robust local and international interest. MIHAS 2026 has established itself as a premier platform for international partnerships, witnessing significant strategic agreements, including a crucial Letter of Intent (LOI) between MATRADE and the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).

This collaboration establishes the Halal Development Officer (HDO) Programme under the Malaysia Halal Global Nexus (MyHGN) initiative, enabling MATRADE officers worldwide to assist global industries in understanding Malaysia's Halal ecosystem, enhancing international certification recognition, and boosting Halal exports. The LOI was officially signed by Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dato Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on behalf of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, highlighting the strategic importance of the event.

The showcase, hosted by JAKIM, is Malaysia's flagship platform for global Halal diplomacy, governance, and capacity-building, drawing government leaders from various ministries and agencies. In addition to the showcase, MIHAS 2026 offers a comprehensive enablement ecosystem for Halal enterprises, featuring industry leaders, the Women in Export (WiEX) initiative, and the prestigious MIHAS Awards to recognize outstanding achievements in product innovation, sustainability, and global market expansion.

Since its launch in 2004, MIHAS has facilitated over RM35.0 billion in export sales and attracted more than half a million business visitors from around the world. As the 22nd edition of the showcase, it continues to strengthen Malaysia's position as a leading global Halal hub.
