Meet NASA’s Artemis II Crew During Houston Public Event

NASA’s Artemis II mission crew will host a public event at the University of Houston to share highlights from their lunar mission and recognize their achievement of traveling farther than any humans before. The astronauts, including Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen, will discuss their near-10 day journey around the Moon.

The event, which starts at 7 p.m. CDT on September 30, is a final public engagement after the crew’s return from space. Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer session with media at 5:45 p.m. The crew surpassed the Apollo 13 record for the farthest distance traveled by humans, setting a new benchmark. The Artemis II mission, which launched on April 1, involved the first astronauts to travel in NASA’s SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft, setting the stage for future lunar exploration with the goal of establishing a sustained human presence on the Moon and paving the way for Mars missions.
