Jayden Daniels expected back at practice

Kurt Warner has responded to backlash over his comments regarding Jayden Daniels' eligibility to play through an elbow injury. The Hall of Fame quarterback clarified that he was not suggesting Daniels should play through the injury or doubting his resolve. This clarification came after Daniels re-dislocated his left elbow during Washington's Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Despite this, the Commanders confirmed Daniels would not undergo surgery or be placed on injured reserve, although his return date remains uncertain. Warner had previously discussed his own experience with an elbow dislocation during his time with the Arizona Cardinals in 2007, drawing a comparison that sparked criticism. However, Warner emphasized that his intention was to provide perspective based on his personal injury, acknowledging that Daniels' situation differs due to his age and mobility.

The Washington Commanders have adopted a cautious approach, keeping Daniels on the 53-man roster and describing his status as week-to-week. Marcus Mariota is set to start against the Seattle Seahawks while Daniels continues his recovery process, with the team awaiting further medical information before making further decisions.
