Islamabad Police Decides No FIRs for Traffic Violations After Arrival of New IG

Islamabad Police have instructed traffic officers not to file unnecessary First Information Reports (FIRs) against citizens for traffic violations. Instead, these offenses are to be handled through fines under the law. DIG Islamabad Ali Wasim made these directives as part of efforts to enhance traffic enforcement and officer conduct.

He ordered officers not to register Section 279 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) cases against citizens for traffic law breaches. The DIG emphasized that traffic officials should impose fines as per law and refrain from registering unnecessary cases. He also directed officers to maintain a courteous and responsible demeanor while interacting with motorists.

Meanwhile, Ali Wasim urged citizens to obey traffic laws and avoid violations. He stressed that cooperation between citizens and traffic police is crucial for maintaining smooth traffic flow in the capital. The DIG highlighted that adhering to traffic rules is vital for ensuring a secure and peaceful traveling environment. Islamabad Police called on motorists to comply with traffic regulations and cooperate with officers to improve road safety and traffic management throughout the city.
