ISACA to Host 2026 Community Day, Champion Digital Security

The ISACA Lagos Chapter is preparing to host its 2026 Community Day, an event that underscores the organization's dedication to fostering safer digital environments, environmental stewardship, and sustainable growth. Titled "Secure Digital Futures, Sustain Our Environment," this inaugural-day initiative is scheduled to transpire in Lagos.

The program is set to emphasize community clean-up undertakings, public awareness campaigns, and the promotion of technology-driven strategies aimed at advancing environmental sustainability.

According to Mr. Justus Osuji, President of ISACA Lagos Chapter, the Community Day underscores the evolving interplay between digital trust, responsible technology usage, and environmental preservation. In an era where technology continues to reshape communities and enterprises, the initiative aims to amplify awareness about the critical need to safeguard both the digital and physical realms where people reside and operate.

A key component of the program will be a community clean-up exercise, which seeks to promote environmental accountability, civic responsibility, and the collaborative efforts necessary to cultivate cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable communities.

To further realize its objectives, ISACA Lagos Chapter has entered into a partnership with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to bolster the clean-up efforts. In addition to the clean-up activities, the program will encompass the provision of essential materials and other community support, embodying ISACA Lagos Chapter's commitment to societal welfare and effecting lasting, sustainable social impact.

Through its public education endeavors, ISACA Lagos will further engage community members on matters pertaining to responsible digital practices, digital security, and the pivotal role that individuals and organizations can play in constructing a safer digital future.
