Iowa football set to host 'College GameDay' vs. Ohio State

ESPN's College GameDay is set to visit Iowa City for the first time since 2006, marking the show's third-ever trip to the city. The street football showdown between Iowa and Ohio State is scheduled for Week 5, on October 3 at Kinnick Stadium. Rece Davis, along with Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, and Pat McAfee, will host the show. This marks the first time College GameDay will visit Iowa City since September 30, 2006.

Ohio State, the visiting team, was the opponent in 1996 and 2006, with the Buckeyes emerging victorious in both instances. This is the first time since 2006 that Iowa City will host College GameDay. Iowa's last GameDay appearance came at home against Iowa State, resulting in a 27-17 victory.

Iowa enters the game at 4-0, with their only loss coming against Michigan in a thrilling 20-19 win. Ohio State, on the other hand, has a record of 3-1, with their only loss being a narrow defeat to Texas. Prior to their Big Ten opener, Ohio State had victories over Ball State, Kent State, and Illinois.

The live broadcast of the game will air on CBS from 8 to 11 a.m. CT on October 3. Fans attending are advised to arrive early, as overnight camping is not permitted.
