Indian, Pakistani expats in UAE dominate heart patients, half aged 31-50, shows Dubai hospital data

Dubai's Aster Hospital Mankhool reveals that Indian and Pakistani expats comprise the majority of heart patients undergoing procedures at its Cardiac Catheterisation Lab. Since 2018, the lab has conducted over 10,000 procedures, with more than 90% of patients hailing from the South Asian region. Indian nationals account for more than 65% of these patients, followed by Pakistani and Filipino expats.

A separate analysis of more than 6,000 patients shows that half of the patients are aged between 31 and 50, highlighting the importance of awareness and early intervention among younger populations. The lab performs a range of cardiac procedures, including emergency and elective treatments, using minimally invasive techniques. Dr Naveed Ahmed, Head of Cardiac Services at Aster Hospital Mankhool, emphasizes the hospital's commitment to moving cardiac care upstream through prevention and early intervention.
