‘Incredibly irresponsible’: TTC says bus joyride video under investigation

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has launched an investigation into a video that allegedly shows a group of youths breaking into the TTC's North Queen Yard in Etobicoke and taking a bus for a reckless joyride. TTC spokesperson Stuart Green confirmed to CityNews that the incident of trespassing, which occurred earlier this month, is currently under investigation with the individuals involved facing potential prosecution.

Green emphasized that the behavior displayed in the video is not only criminally wrong but also incredibly irresponsible and dangerous, putting the participants and potentially others at risk. The video, posted to YouTube two days ago, displays the TTC bus being driven at high speeds in circles around the yard, located just east of Shorncliffe Road on North Queen Street.

The point-of-view shots from inside the bus are visible, and at one point, the bus collides with and topples a sign that narrowly misses another trespasser.

Toronto police have been notified about the incident, but as of now, no arrests have been made. The TTC is actively working on the matter, and further updates are expected.
