Hurricanes’ Jarvis still grinding back from shoulder surgery as Stanley Cup champions open season

Raleigh, N.C. – Seth Jarvis, the top-line forward for the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, is still recovering from shoulder surgery that sidelined him for nearly three full years. The 24-year-old winger, who was drafted 13th overall in 2020, has been playing through the injury during the Hurricanes' eight-year playoff run under coach Rod Brind'Amour.

Jarvis, who has been a mainstay for Carolina, has scored 15 playoff goals and 21 assists in three postseasons despite the lingering shoulder issues. He underwent surgery on June 24 in Colorado after winning an Olympic silver medal in February.

His recovery time was initially projected at 4-6 months, but Jarvis aims to be fully ready by the start of the 2024-25 season. He is confident that with his high standards and no room for excuses, he'll be ready to play at full throttle once he's back on the ice.
