Huawei showcases clean-energy systems at Egypt mining forum

Huawei is making its debut at the Egypt Mining Forum, showcasing digital-power and clean-energy technologies designed to boost the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of mining operations. The fifth edition of the two-day forum, set to commence on September 28 at the St Regis New Capital in Cairo, is being hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

Over 6,000 attendees from more than 50 countries are expected to participate in the event, alongside 500 conference delegates, 100 speakers, and 100 exhibiting companies. Huawei's offering combines digital technologies, power electronics, and renewable energy to tackle the electricity needs of industrial sites, particularly in remote or off-grid areas where a dependable power supply can be challenging.

Tony Bu, Huawei Egypt Digital Power Business chief executive, is scheduled to be one of the strategic conference speakers. The company aims to sign a memorandum of understanding with a strategic industry partner during the forum, which would establish a framework for cooperation and explore potential applications of Huawei Digital Power technologies across the mining sector.

This participation aligns with Egypt's ongoing efforts to attract more investment into mineral exploration, mine development, and processing while modernizing the regulatory framework governing the sector.
