Hatsun Agro To Establish Over 6,000 Dairy Farms In Odisha Over Next Three Years Via ‘Go-Dhan’ Initiative

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd. (HAPL) has unveiled a collaboration with the Government of Odisha and State Bank of India (SBI) to launch 'Go-Dhan', an initiative aimed at empowering dairy farmers in the state. The ambitious plan intends to establish over 6,000 dairy farms across Odisha within the next three years. The phased strategy is tailored to boost farmer earnings and foster a resilient dairy ecosystem within the region.

The 'Go-Dhan' programme will extend its benefits to 6,000 dairy farmers in 15 districts of Odisha. It aims to enhance farmers' access to institutional finance and government aid for investments in superior bovine breeds, enhanced cattle housing, farm mechanisation, nutrition, and herd health. Hatsun Agro Product reported a slight decline in profits for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, falling to ₹133.69 crore from the previous year.

The initiative will make use of government subsidy schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY). This will aid participating farmers in securing more affordable capital to bolster and expand their dairy ventures. R G Chandramogan, Chairman of Hatsun Agro Product, expressed the company's commitment to produce and procure milk within Odisha.

He emphasized that this strategy will generate value for local farmers and satisfy consumer demand in Odisha and neighboring markets such as West Bengal and North Andhra Pradesh.
