Globe posts strongest 2026 network performance in August — DICT report

Manila, Philippines — Globe achieved its most impressive network performance thus far in August, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) report card. The telco secured the highest overall score and fastest average download speed in the latest assessment. Globe's performance reflects the company's ongoing network investments and collaboration with the government, particularly the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), to enhance telecommunications services nationwide.

The company's overall score increased by 4.4 points from January to 81.5, while the average download speed hit a record high of 45.9 Mbps, marking a 5.1% improvement from July and a 26% surge since the beginning of the year. Network quality also rose to 71.2 from 69.2, and latency remained steady at 20 milliseconds. These improvements are part of Globe's commitment to delivering dependable connectivity, as emphasized by Atty.

Globe has allocated P26.3 billion in capital expenditures for 2026, with 91% dedicated to data-related initiatives. The company's dedication to consistent network performance has earned it recognition as the Most Consistent Mobile Provider four times consecutively.

Additionally, Globe is strengthening network resilience through automation, with its Automated Outage Response technology retaining up to 50% of data connectivity during outages. Extending reliable connectivity to hard-to-reach communities remains a priority, with Globe having brought mobile connectivity to 52 previously unserved Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) in July.
