In a four-day training program held from September 15-18, 2026, in Bibiani, selected regional and district stakeholders received comprehensive training on utilizing the GCLMS. Organized by the ILO under the ACCEL Africa Project in collaboration with the Child Labour Unit of the Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Employment, the training focused on registration, documentation, data management, report generation, and monitoring of follow-up actions.
Bismark Quartey, the National Project Coordinator of the ILO’s ACCEL Africa Project in Ghana, emphasized the significance of reliable data in addressing child labour issues. He explained that the system would enable stakeholders to document cases accurately, understand their characteristics and causes, initiate appropriate interventions, and ensure follow-ups on children and their families receiving support.
Frederick Osei Agyemang, a participant from the Social Welfare Department in Bibiani, shared that the training had enhanced his understanding of documenting child labour cases using the system. He highlighted that the system would improve information quality at the district level, ensuring that identified cases receive proper support.
