FG Targets One Million Outsourcing Jobs by 2030

Vice President Kashim Shettima announced Nigeria's ambition to create one million outsourcing jobs by 2030 at the Hire From Nigeria campaign's global launch in New York. The Vice President emphasized Nigeria's growing pool of digitally fluent, English-speaking young professionals, ready to serve the world. He highlighted the potential of the global outsourced services market, which is projected to exceed a trillion dollars in the coming years, and stressed Nigeria's crucial role in this emerging market.

The Hire From Nigeria campaign is a joint effort between the government and private sector, aiming to make Nigerian talent more accessible to global businesses. It focuses on connecting skilled workers, digital experts, creatives, and service providers with international employers, facilitating secure connections and deepening Nigeria's participation in the global economy.

The campaign aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's priorities, including youth empowerment, job creation, services, and digital trade. Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa stressed the importance of education in Nigeria's economic growth, noting that reforms are underway to ensure that education not only provides knowledge but also equips people with the skills to solve problems and earn a living.

The campaign's success relies on demand-driven skills development, easy access to talent, building trust, and matching talent with appropriate jobs. The Mastercard Foundation, Tech4Dev, the National Identity Management Commission, the Bank of Industry, and the National Information Technology Development Agency are among the key partners supporting the initiative.
