Elderly woman found stabbed to death in Menglembu, daughter with psychiatric history held

KAMPAR, Sept 28 — Perak police have arrested a 49-year-old woman, believed to have stabbed her 70-year-old mother to death in their home in Menglembu. The victim, found with a stab wound to her chest, had recently been brought home from an old folks' home and was being cared for by her daughter and son-in-law. The daughter, who has a history of mental health treatment, was detained and will be remanded until Oct 4 as part of the investigation.

Police also seized a knife believed to be the murder weapon. In a separate case, a 15-year-old boy, son of a disabled woman whose body was found in Kampung Cheh Kati, Kuala Kangsar on Sept 23, was taken to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta for further treatment as he and his 44-year-old father were previously remanded for assisting with the investigation.
