Dolphins RB De'Von Achane Suffers Torn ACL: Report

The Miami Dolphins experienced a series of setbacks on Monday as they reported the season-ending ACL injury of their star running back, De Von Achane. This unfortunate turn of events occurred just 24 hours after the team suffered a 0-3 start to the 2026 season. The Dolphins had already seen significant losses over the offseason, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and star wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.

Achane was the only offensive standout remaining on the roster, having been ranked 26th on the 2026 NFL Top 100 list in August following a standout 2025 campaign. The 24-year-old led the Dolphins in rushing attempts, yards, touchdowns, and total yards in each of the past two seasons, while also contributing as a reliable receiver, recording 67 receptions last year.

Through Miami's first three games this season, Achane had managed 34 carries for a disappointing 127 yards and 7 receptions for 49 yards. He suffered the ACL injury during his third rushing attempt in Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. The injury prevention efforts put in place by the team appear to have failed, leaving the Dolphins in a precarious position with one of the worst records expected in the NFL this season.
