Doctor Doom Appears to Be Abducting Heroes in Avengers: Doomsday

According to recent footage released with the re-release of Avengers: Endgame Encore, it appears that Doctor Doom is planning to abduct various heroes from the Marvel universe. In the film's final moments, Bruce Banner can be seen recording a video message in a bunker after isolating himself following Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, his solitude is disrupted when Doctor Doom suddenly appears and seemingly kidnaps him.

The true extent of Doom's intentions remains uncertain, but director Joe Russo hints that the Incredible Hulk's capture is just one aspect of his larger scheme. Russo told Empire that Doctor Doom's interest may extend beyond just Banner.

In a post-credits scene from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Doctor Doom is seen in the Baxter Building's living room, conversing with young Franklin Richards. While Sue Storm interrupts the conversation, it is unclear whether Doom successfully abducts Franklin or if he is forced to leave without the child. This has led to speculation that Doctor Doom might be targeting the children of various Marvel heroes, including Franklin, Thor's adopted child, and possibly the offspring of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter. However, this theory has lost some credibility following Endgame Encore's ending.

With roughly two months remaining until the release of Doomsday, there should be more clarity on Doctor Doom's plans. Nevertheless, there are likely to be numerous mysteries surrounding the villain's actions, as Doctor Doom is set to return in Avengers: Secret Wars next year.
